Jamie Donaldson continued his strong recent run of form to hit the front on a weather shortened day two of the inaugural Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown.
I putted really well. We have the advantage of playing here last week – I hit the ball really well last week but didn’t make that many putts. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we were working on my putting and I’ve putted really well these last two days.
Johannes Veerman
The Welshman picked up seven unanswered birdies to reach the 16th on 12-under par when lightening bought a premature end to the day.
James Morrison and Johannes Veerman (64) hold second spot a shot adrift having completed their second rounds. Morrison posting the low round of the day, a sizzling 63 to surge through the field.
Steven Brown (64), David Horsey (65), Romain Langasque (66) and Joost Luiten (65) hold a share of fourth on 10-under, alongside Sami Valimaki who has two holes left to play.
Clubhouse leader Veerman was delighted with his efforts.
