CHIANG RAI, Thailand: Panuphon Pittayarat carded a spectacular 65 to hit the front at the All Thailand Golf Tour, Singha Thailand Masters at the Santiburi Country Club layout on Thursday.
The 2017 champion ended the day on seven-under par alongside Ratchapol Jantavara, Jedsada Seweewallop and Poom Pattaropong.
“Really happy with the way I played today,” said Panuphon, who put on a flawless display, picking up four shots on the way out and three on the journey home, including a closing brace at 17 and 18.
“Whenever I made a mistake I was able to pull it back with some good scrambling. Will just try to keep my mind in the present and not get too far ahead of myself tomorrow.“
The leading four are one shot clear of a trio of players, including Rattanon Wannasrichan (66), Jakraphan Premsirigorn (66) and Natipong Strithong (66).
Veteran Thongchai Jaidee rolled back the years to card a fine 68 to join a group of 14 players on four-under par.
