PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic: Tyler McCumber lost a shot at the last to fall into a four-way share for the lead at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship on Thursday.

McCumber was joined on the seven-under par by Sepp Straka – who shot a flawless 65 – Hudson Swafford and Scott Harrington.

The four stood a shot clear of China’s Xinjun Zhang and Joseph Bramlett.

Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat – chasing his first cut since the return to action post lockdown – started with a solid two-under 70.

The big-hitter reached three-under with a brace of birdies at seven and eight (his 16th and 17th) but was left to rue a drop shot at the par-three ninth.

Straka enjoyed the best of conditions, he took advantage of the light breeze to roll in an eagle at the par-five fourth and then put together a run of three consecutive birdies from the 14th.

“This course is not really one where you can push it,” Straka said. “You can shoot a low round out here, but it’s got to be a consistent low round.”
