Phachara Khongwatmai is in pole position to win the 19th Singha Pattaya Open taking a three-shot lead into the final round.
Bidding to win his 6th win on the All Thailand Golf tour, Phachara, who fired a superb 59 in the first round and a second round 70, continued his decent form with a 63 in the third round at par-70 Burapha Golf & Resort in Chon Buri.
Phachara made the headlines in 2013 when he won his first ATGT event at Singha Hua Hin Open as an amateur. His last and fifth win on the tour was at Singha E-san Open last year when he defeated Kosuke Hamamoto in a playoff.
Three strokes behind is in-form Sadom Kaewkanjana, who is looking for his three consecutive wins after recent victories in Phuket. Sadom fired a 62 with eight birdies in the bogey-free round.
Defending champion Prom Meesawat has a slim chance to retain his title. The Hua Hin native shot a 2-under 68 to reach 9-under. Prom, who won here four times, entered the final round nine shots behind the leader.
Raththee Sirithanakunsak (64) and Wichayapat Sinsrang (67) were a stroke further back, while amateur Ratchanon Chantananuwat (68) was at 4-under and still on course to win the low amateur award for the third consecutive tournament.
